Isamu Kawashita is a Japanese-American who was born and raised in Washington DC. At an early age he began to design, retool and create unique pieces of art and art wear. After receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Human Health and Kinetics from Ohio Wesleyan University, Isamu fell in love with fashion as it lives on the human form, specifically Men’s Street Wear. In 2020, he traveled to Tokyo to attend Esmod Japon to study Fashion Design, and also to receive a Bachelor’s degree in Business Innovation from Conservatoire National des Arts et Metiers. An early piece of Isamu’s was selected by Aaron Bryant, curator from The Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture, to be a part of their permanent collection.
